Mountain Biking

Want to do some biking off the beaten path? The Mountain Biking Orientation trip will explore old logging roads and trails around the Harpswell Area.

Ready to trade pavement for pine needles? The Mountain Biking trip is your ticket to off-road adventure on the trails and backroads around the Harpswell area. Over the course of four days, you’ll explore a mix of beginner-friendly routes and more technical rides.

You’ll bike an average of 5-10 miles per day, camp in Bradbury State Park and spend evenings socializing with your group and sleeping soundly in a tent. There will also be an outhouse within walking distance. The Outing Club provides fat tire bikes and helmets, just bring your sense of adventure and comfort with uneven terrain. Participants should have a sense of adventure, be prepared to get a bit muddy, should know how to ride a bike on uneven terrain and expect to bike an average of 10-15 miles per day (uphill and down!).

If there is anything in the trip description or equipment list that you have questions about, please do not hesitate to contactus at (207) 725-4292 or bocOtrips@bowdoin.edu.

We have the bikes and helmets, but here's what you should pack: See Mountain Biking Packing List. Items you can borrow or purchase from the BOC are marked on the packing list.
