Mt. Blue

A multi-sport trip in one of Maine's most scenic spots!


Settle into the western Maine woods for four days at Mount Blue State Park. This trip offers a flexible and relaxed introduction to Maine’s natural beauty partaking in activities from hiking and canoeing, to swimming or soaking up the scenery. You will be sleeping in tents and have access to an outhouse.

Sample Itinerary

Wednesday

  • Depart from Bowdoin.
  • Arrive and set up camp at Mount Blue State Park.
  • Hike Mount Blue that afternoon (~3 miles round trip) for a great view to kick things off.

Thursday

  • Canoe on Webb Lake. 

Friday

  • Climb Tumbledown Mountain—a full-day hike with an alpine lake at the summit, perfect for a swim if it’s warm.

Saturday

  • Return to campus. Clean gear and return all borrowed equipment before returning to dorms.
