Canoe Tripping

Maine provides many spectacular settings for canoe tripping on lakes, rivers, and the ocean!

Each trip has a unique view of Maine’s serene waters and varied wildlife, with a good chance of encountering moose and bald eagles! No previous canoe experience is required, but a comfort on the water, as well as swimming proficiency, is a must for members of these trips.

Canoe trips include Rangeley and Mt. Blue, where participants canoe and day hike throughout their four days together in some of Maine's most scenic state parks. The Outing Club also offers the Merrymeeting coastal canoeing trip, where participants paddle to an island nestled in the bay to base camp and canoe for the duration of their trip.

If you are up for a challenging, more remote, canoeing adventure sign up for the Debsconeag Loop when submitting trip requests. This 30 mile loop includes big lake paddling, multiple canoe carries, and some time on a river to finish the loop. There is no experience required for this trip but members of this trip should be up for a more demanding itinerary. You can read more on the Debsconeag page.
