Flagstaff Bigelow Backpack

Hike one of the most scenic sections of the Appalacian Trail!

This trip takes students up and over one of the most iconic ridgelines in Maine: the Bigelow Mountains. Following the Appalacian Trail for most of the itinerary, this trip will move campsites everyday, sleep in tents, and stay in sites with access to outhouses. Participants should expect to hike 5-12 miles each day and carry packs around 45 pounds. On the last day, this trip swaps activities with the Flagstaff Bigelow Canoe group and canoes on Flagstaff Lake.
