We understand that access to mental health counseling is often challenging and the process of getting an appointment is sometimes difficult with long waits to receive care. The physical and mental health of our employees and their families is important to us. For this reason, the College partners with WellSpace@Work to assist you in prioritizing your wellness.
WellSpace@Work is a Maine-based licensed outpatient counseling practice with offices in Portland, Yarmouth, and online sessions via telehealth intended to provide you with confidential, readily accessible, and specialized counseling services. The practice has several clinicians who have extensive anti-racism and multicultural competency training and experience. They also have a number of clinicians with extensive training and specialization working with gender and sexual identity. The WellSpace@Work practice is also committed in their efforts to hire a more diverse workforce to meet the needs of all their clients.
The WellSpace@Work benefit covers the first eight therapy sessions at no cost each calendar year to all benefits-eligible faculty and staff and their immediate family members (legally married spouse/domestic partner, child or step-child).
You do not need to be enrolled in one of the College’s Cigna health plans to be eligible, but all the WellSpace@Work behavioral health clinicians at the practice are in-network with Cigna. For this reason, if you are enrolled in one of the College’s Cigna health plans, you’ll be able to continue with your same counselor by using your Cigna health insurance benefits once the first eight free counseling sessions have ended.

Your call or email to schedule an appointment will be returned within 24 hours and every attempt will be made by WellSpace@Work to schedule your first appointment within 5 working days. Again, the program is free and completely confidential. No personal information will be shared with anyone.
