Stand Up Paddle Boarding

Stand Up Paddle Boarding, aka SUP-ing, is an awesome cross between surfing and paddling. You will learn the basics of the SUP-ing and paddling on a point-to-point SUP trip along the Androscoggin River.

Newly reimagined by two Outing Club leaders in 2018, this orientation trip offers participants a chance to navigate thirty miles of the beautiful Androscoggin River on a paddleboard. With canoes to carry food and gear, students will float downstream each day and make camp on the shore each night, with time to swim, stargaze, and unwind around a campfire next to one of Maine's most scenic rivers. Point-to-point flatwater paddleboarding is a unique part of this adventure, offering a combination of active and relaxing time on the river regardless of skill level. No previous experience necessary, though participants should be good swimmers and comfortable in deep and moving water.
