Fertility Benefits administered by Cigna's Partner FamilyPath
The State of Maine has enacted a mandate adding certain fertility benefits to all fully insured health plans in Maine effective January 1, 2024. Although not required for self-insured medical plans such as the College’s, we are pleased to add these benefits to all three of our medical plans for 2024.
Benefits will be administered by Cigna’s partner Evernorth FamilyPath (a Cigna family-building solution) who will also provide care and support for growing families. FamilyPath Advisors will help you in understanding the coverage, provide help finding a provider or clinic and connect the participant to emotional wellbeing resources along the journey.
The benefits include (after fulfilling plan deductibles and including applicable plan coinsurance):
- Complete cycle coverage for IUI and IVF
- Fertility preservation and storage for up to 5 years
- Conception coverage for female couples and single females
You must go through FamilyPath to obtain authorization for benefits but may use both in-network and out-of-network providers (subject the plan cost sharing for each). Starting January 1, 2024 you may reach FamilyPath to learn more about these benefits by calling 866-203-8374.
