Greater Brunswick Community
Learn about the community of Brunswick and all it has to offer outside of Bowdon’s campus.
Students on this trip will have the opportunity to explore Brunswick—a historic college town with a lively downtown, strong civic spirit, and a deep connection to the surrounding Midcoast region of Maine. On the trip, students will connect with organizations such as the Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program, which works to reduce hunger and improve food security across the region through direct service, education, and advocacy. Accommodations will include access to kitchen and shower facilities.
Note: This trip includes a visit to an animal shelter, which is not a safe place for anyone with peanut or wheat allergies, as they use a lot of both. Please contact mckeenOtrips@bowdoin.edu in case of any animal allergies or concerns.
Sample Itinerary:
Wednesday, August 26: A day with Spindleworks! Get creative with art and have lunch at the Town Mall, just minutes away from campus!
Thursday, August 27: Work with MCHPP and learn about food care! Then check out Simpson’s Point or whatever else your cool trip leaders map for your Brunswick exploration!
Friday, August 28: Spend a morning at the animal shelter, and then an afternoon at the Teen Center helping with projects—and then explore Brunswick!
Saturday, August 29: Catch the sunrise at the Giant’s Stairs, reflect, and come home to Bowdoin!
