Fryeburg Community

Students will have the opportunity to explore Fryeburg, Maine, a quiet western town bordering New Hampshire. Sitting among the foothills of the White Mountains, Fryeburg is known for its sense of community and agricultural tradition. Participants will work with organizations including Rivers & Roads and see firsthand efforts to close the opportunity gap in the area. Accommodations will include access to kitchen and shower facilities.

Sample Itinerary

Wednesday, August 26: Depart Bowdoin, drive to Fryeburg, and get settled at Forest Acres Camp. Work with a partner on a service project to help address food insecurity!

Thursday, August 27: Work with Rivers and Roads and meet local youth, then explore the area!

Friday, August 28: Volunteer with a land trust to help upkeep local trails, then take a walk to see some of the nature!

Saturday, August 29: Clean up, reflect, and return to Bowdoin!
