Athletics and Wellness

• Sports events are almost all free to attend. Check out the event schedule and come cheer on our Polar Bears! The cheer is “Go U Bears!”
• Your OneCard gives you access to Bowdoin’s Athletic Facilities (including Buck Center for Health and Fitness, Squash Center, Greason Pool, and Farley Field House). Staff have access to their own locker rooms and showers in several of the facilities. Facility hours can be found on the Athletics website. Facility access is available for partners and dependents who have received approval for OneCards. Children <15 must be accompanied by an adult. For more information contact the One Card Office at onecard@bowdoin.edu.
• During the academic year the Athletics Department hosts a slate of Wellness Classes staff can attend and a few classes during the summer as well. The list of wellness classes can be found on the Human Resources website.
• Campus Events
• CampusGroups lists all of the events happening on campus including speakers, community building events, performances and more. Check out CampusGroups and filter by “open to faculty/staff” or “open to the public” to see what you and your family and friends can attend. 
• Employee Engagement Groups are sponsored by the Office of Inclusion and Diversity and host inclusive events throughout the year. Current employee engagement groups include: Queers & Allies, Bowdoin Family Fun: Employees with Children, Employees of Color, and Employees Newish to Maine.
• Join the Cool Things Club for one of their show-and-tell hours!  

Museums

• Both the Bowdoin College Museum of Art and Peary-MacMillan Arctic Museum are free and open to the public. Please see their website for tours, hours, exhibitions, and a link to the gift shop. 

Library Use

• All employees have access to Bowdoin College Library which has a wealth of resources including interlibrary loans from Colby and Bates College and public Maine libraries, digital news subscriptions, and physical materials from any library on campus. You can also book a room, check out equipment, puzzles, get research help, and more. Guest cards are available for partners. For more information: lib_circ@bowdoin.edu 

• Registering your car is free and is required to park on campus. The list of employee lots is listed on the Office of Safety and Security’s website as some parking areas are owned by the Town of Brunswick and are ticketed and enforced separately. Information is also available on their website about Bowdoin’s parking fines and appeals.

• Register your bike to help Security locate and return lost bikes.

• Bowdoin Bike Share is available during the academic year for faculty, staff, and students. 

• Several EV Chargers are available on campus for a discounted rate. Rates and locations can be found on the Sustainability Office website. can be found on the Sustainability Office website.

• The Bowdoin Faculty-Staff Digest is emailed during the work week and collects official announcements and events happening throughout the week as well as general community interest items (For Sale, For Rent, Services Offered). You can post items on the digest on CampusGroups.

• Staff and faculty are also welcome to borrow gear from the Outing Club to outfit a personal camping trip or for other activities. If you have questions about what is available to borrow, please email bocGearRoom@bowdoin.edu.

• Visit the Mail Center for packaging materials, stamps, or to send out a package/mail. Visit their website for more information on available mail services.

• Whether you need to print documents, posters, cards, or booklets, the Copy and Print Center can quickly and efficiently produce high-quality products. Submit a print order on their website.

• Borrow supplies for events like department parties, birthdays, celebrations from the Office of Events and Summer Programs.

• Get furniture and office supplies for your office from facilities and the sustainability office. 

• Want access to Bowdoin’s AI? Check out what IT has to offer for AI usage.
• Need some help from facilities or to get something fixed?  Submit a facilities work order.
• Need something notarized? Bowdoin has several staff members on campus who can help with notary services.
