Long Term Disability

Long Term Disability insurance (LTD) pays you a portion of your wages if you are unable to work due to personal illness or injury after a waiting period of 180 days.

How do I use the Long Term Disability Insurance?

If you are unable to return to work at the end of the 180 day waiting period, The Hartford (the College’s disability carrier) will assist you in the transition from Short Term Disability to Long Term Disability and in obtaining the medical information in support of your claim. LTD income continuation may continue up to normal retirement age (except that there is a 24-month limit for substance abuse claims).

If you have additional questions about Short Term or Long Term Disability benefits, please contact Mary Cote in Human Resources x3033 or view the LTD plan policy document listed below.
