Fraternity and Sorority Membership Policy

All Bowdoin students are prohibited from joining fraternities, sororities, and other private and similarly selective-membership social organizations.

Students involved in organizing, rushing, pledging, perpetrating, hazing, and initiating activities for any selective-membership social organization at Bowdoin will be dismissed permanently from Bowdoin College. Violation of this policy is considered a violation of the Social Code.

This policy covers all Bowdoin students, including students who choose to study away, and their relationships with private, selective-membership social organizations, whether they are residential or non-residential, or have any local or national affiliation.
