Honors Projects

Completing a thesis in the EOS department requires two semesters of dedicated effort, almost always undertaken in a student's senior year.

An honors project may begin in the summer or autumn of senior year, either as a dedicated honors project course, or as an independent study that subsequently develops into an honors project. Both are excellent ways to make space within the curriculum where a student can work with a faculty mentor to undertake the significant research project that leads to honors in EOS.

All theses that have earned department honors are deposited in the George J. Mitchell Department of Special Collections & Archives of the Bowdoin College Library.

As of May 2020, honors projects will be archived in the Bowdoin Digital Commons.
