- the application and essay
- overall academic potential
- extracurricular participation
- personal qualities
- the interview if available
- How important are standardized test scores?
- Submission of SAT and ACT scores is optional at Bowdoin, and has been for 30 years. About 20-25% of recent entering classes decided not to submit standardized test results.
- Because standardized test results are used for academic counseling and placement, all entering first-year student must submit scores over the summer prior to enrolling.
- Can I get application materials on line?
- When will I be notified about a decision on my application?
- In early April. (Mid-December if you apply through the Early Decision program.)
