IDOC

Bowdoin requires that you submit your family's financial aid application documents through IDOC.

IDOC is a service provided by the College Board to help students and institutions efficiently, confidentially, and securely process sensitive application materials. Bowdoin requires financial aid applicants to upload tax and other documents through IDOC.

You will find which documents are required in the "Next Steps" section of the dashboard after submitting your CSS Profile. You may also log in to IDOC directly through the IDOC website by providing two of the three personal identifiers. Forms such as the verification worksheet and non-tax filer statements are available to be downloaded in IDOC. IDOC offers an instructional video for additional guidance.

During peak processing time, IDOC may take several days to process and deliver your documents. The date you upload your documents is considered the submission date. IDOC is always the fastest and most secure way to submit your documents, even during periods when the processing time is slower than usual.

Confidentiality and Security

The confidentiality of your information is very important to the College Board and to Bowdoin College. To ensure the highest level of data integrity, privacy, and security, the College Board has implemented systems that include multiple firewalls with unique security zones, data encryption, intrusion detection systems, data and system backups, and data integrity checks. Once the processing cycle is complete, the College Board destroys your original documents.

The College Board offers an IDOC Customer Service phone line between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. EST. Please visit the IDOC website to find the IDOC Customer Service phone number and email address.
