Field Trips
In addition to accessible field work associated with individual courses, the EOS department periodically offers optional field trips to destinations farther from Bowdoin.
Some trips involve international travel (Iceland; Grand Manan Island, Bay of Fundy, Canada). Others involve trips to world-renowned destinations for EOS – Acadia National Park, ME; Vinalhaven Island, ME; The Maine Mineral and Gem Museum in Bethel, ME. These trips provide opportunities to learn about Earth and Ocean processes with your peers, faculty, and staff. Trips are advertised via CampusGroups (join the EOS group for updates on CG). When space is limited, priority is given to EOS majors and minors. Most trips are free of cost for all students.
