Educational Conversations
Educational Conversations
Bowdoin College is committed to educating students in and out of the classroom. Occasionally, a student may have an incident on or off campus that involves a potential violation of College policy or a need for additional support. In some situations, the Office of the Dean of Students, the Office of Residential Life, or the Office of the Dean for Student Affairs follows up with students in the form of educational conversations to offer an opportunity to reflect on the incident and remind students of applicable College policies. These conversations allow the student the opportunity to change their behavior without rising to the level of a disciplinary meeting. These conversations are not part of a student’s formal disciplinary record, but they will be documented in the student’s file and may be considered if College policy violations occur in the future.
