Pride Month 2025

Show your Bowdoin Pride throughout the month of June by joining fellow Polar Bears at an upcoming parade, festival, or happy hour. Bowdoin Pride Month is proudly co-sponsored by the Office of Alumni Relations, the Sexuality, Women, and Gender Center (SWAG), and Bowdoin's Queers & Allies (Q&A) Faculty/Staff group.

Upcoming Events

Portland Pride Parade

Saturday, June 21st at 1:00 p.m. ET

All members of the Bowdoin community and their guests are invited to walk behind Bowdoin's banner in the 2025 Portland Pride Parade! The parade starts at Monument Square in Portland, ME and wraps up at the Pride Festival in Deering Oaks Park. Bowdoin is in Group C (position C19), lining up on Brown Street near Congress, and positioned behind the Portland Players and in front of the Maine Education Association. Plan to arrive by 12:45 p.m. Give yourself ample time to park and locate the group - this will likely take longer than you think so plan accordingly. Volunteers will be dressed in reflective vests.

Bowdoin Pride swag will be distributed at the parade lineup, including custom Bowdoin Pride warrior head wraps, sunglasses, and more. Be sure to bring hydration and snacks!

Out & Proudly NESCAC Pride

Wednesday, June 25th from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. local time

Whether you’ve joined an NESCAC Pride Out & Proudly event before or this is your first time, we can’t wait to celebrate with you! These gatherings are all about community, connection, and amplifying the importance of LGBTQ+ visibility. Happening across the country, each event is a chance for NESCAC peers to come together, make meaningful connections, and show your pride—so bring your energy, bring a friend, and let’s celebrate!

Reunion Weekend Bowdoin LGBTQ Social: Connection, Joy, and Colorful Vibes
Friday, May 30th from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. ET

We look forward to welcoming the 5s and 0s to campus for Reunion Weekend. Celebrate LGBTQ inclusion and community with the Sexuality, Women, and Gender Center and the Office of Alumni Relations. Kick things off with a festive community social—lawn games, swag, and rainbow-themed treats that’ll brighten your day! We’ll wrap it up at 5:30 p.m. with a Polar Bear group photo as a powerful, visible display of support for our LGBTQ community. Everyone is welcome—bring your friends, your family, or just your fabulous self.
