Matt Orlando P'28 will discuss what lies ahead for the Bowdoin we all love. How can a small college with such a large endowment possibly face any financial challenges? Matt will discuss the budget process of the College including the interplay between spending, the endowment and tuition dollars. While it hardly seems possible, many of the buildings alumni may consider new are in need of repair, renovation, addition or replacement. What changes have been made recently, what is currently planned and what is on the wish list to meet the needs of the current student population and to attract future students.
Matt has served as Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration & Treasurer for Bowdoin College since July 2016. He started with the College in 2006 as Controller. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a graduate of Trinity College in Connecticut. Orlando is a board member of MaineHealth and MidCoast Parkview Health, and a member of the finance committee for the United Way of Mid Coast Maine. He lives in Harpswell, Maine with his wife and two children.
