Urban Studies Minors' Summer/Post Graduate Plans

Seniors — Class of 2022

  • Work with the Climate Initiative and Maine Emergency Management Association this summer to update Rockland's Hazard Mitigation Plan and to spread the word on how climate change intersects with natural hazards in Maine.
  • Attending UNC Chapel Hill for a masters in City and Regional Planning this coming fall.
  • Studying abroad at DIS Copenhagen to complete graduation requirements, followed by working at as environmental science and gardening elementary school teacher in Copenhagen.
  • Working with Washington Trails Association, assisting them in developing urban trails in the southern Seattle area.
  • Teaching in Spain for a year doing the NALCAP program.
  • Microsoft Software Engineer at their headquarters in Redmond, WA. After working there for a few years, potentially go to graduate school for Urban Planning.

Undergraduates

  • Interning at The Century Foundation in Washington D.C., supporting research on K-12 education policy.
  • Research areas will include an analysis of dual-language immersion programs in the United States and the impacts of gentrification on urban public education
