Colby Ormsby - 2019

Colby Ormsby

Colby Ormsby, 22, of Harpswell was arrested in Brunswick on January 5, 2019 and charged with the theft of a Bowdoin College dining van. The van was stolen on August 5, 2018 at 2:30 a.m. from a parking area near the Moulton Union loading dock. The van was recovered hours later – extensively damaged – on High Head Road in Harpswell.

Brunswick police have charged Ormsby with theft by unauthorized use, aggravated criminal mischief, and operating after revocation.

Bowdoin security also has information that Ormsby has been seen on campus since the vehicle theft, including on September 1, 2018 when he entered Maine Hall with a group of local residents. Students reported the intrusion but the group fled on foot as security officers arrived.

Following that incident, on September 30, Ormsby was served with a trespass warning barring him from all Bowdoin College property.

If you encounter Ormsby on campus, immediately report it to the Office of Safety and Security at 207-725-3500, or contact the Brunswick police by dialing 9-1-1.
