Instruments

The Department of Music has numerous instruments and lockers for student use. For information about the loaner instrument program, please contact Delmar Small at (207) 725-3747 or dsmall@bowdoin.edu. Any student may request a loaner instrument or a shared locker, but priority is given to those enrolled in lessons or Music Department ensembles. Standard band and orchestra instruments are generally issued with a locker, but students may opt to store the instrument in their dorm room.

Students are expected to replace string, reeds, etc. on their own, but we do maintain some of these supplied in case a crisis arises.

There is no charge for loaner instruments or locker use.
