Entering First-year Class
Each entering Class numbers around 500. In the days leading up to Convocation, new students sign their names into a matriculation book placed on the desk of Nathaniel Hawthorne (Class of 1825), as did all Bowdoin alumni/ae before them. All first-year students live on campus. About 11% of the incoming Class of 2029 are from Maine; about 36% are of color; and 5% are international.
