Enrollment

In fall 2026, Bowdoin enrolled approximately 1,896 students on campus, plus another 188 studying abroad or at other domestic institutions through approved off-campus study programs, typically during the junior year. Bowdoin students come from 50 U.S. states and about 56 foreign countries. Bowdoin is a coeducational, residential college, with about 90% of students living on campus in typical years. The student gender split is 47% men, 53% women; 10% of students are from Maine; 37% are of color; and 7% are international.
