Admissions

Bowdoin Admissions looks at each applicant holistically as it seeks out students who are bright and engaged inside and outside the classroom and who demonstrate curiosity and a willingness to take intellectual risks. About 8% of applicants are offered a spot in the entering Class, with over half choosing to enroll. Standardized test score submission is optional for the admissions process at Bowdoin. While a student’s overall academic record is the most important credential, teacher recommendations, writing samples, academic potential, community involvement and personal character are also evaluated.
