Shared Governance

Shared governance is fundamental to the College's effectiveness as an educational institution.
Governance of the academic program is shared and organized through academic departments and program committees, faculty meetings, faculty and college committees and working groups, and faculty representation at meetings of the Board of Trustees. Faculty meetings occur monthly during the academic year. The Committee on Governance and Faculty Affairs (GFA), together with the dean for academic affairs and the president, plans the agenda for faculty meetings and moderates the meetings. All faculty are encouraged to attend and participate in faculty meetings, and nearly all faculty members participate in shared governance by serving on committees.
