West Hall is a five-story, brick residence that houses approximately 82 students in double rooms. Each comprises a double bedroom and a common room. There are male and female bathrooms on each floor hallway. There is a common room and a study room on the first floor and study space on the 2nd and 3rd floors. There is an elevator in the building.

Telephone and Voicemail
Each student is assigned a telephone number for their entire time at Bowdoin. One phone per room is supplied and each student has an individual voicemail box.
Television and Cable
All rooms are cable ready.
High-speed internet ports are located in every student room. Additionally, all buildings on campus are wireless.
First-Year students are not permitted to have vehicles on campus. Upper class residents are issued decals to designated parking lots based on seniority and housing assignments on a first come, first served, space available basis. The laundry room is located in the basement. The charge for washers and dryers is $1.70 per cycle. The washing machines and dryers in all residence halls are equipped with card readers; laundry machines do not accept cash. You may add money to your Bowdoin ID card for this purpose at several machines on campus. You can see what machines are open, get alerts sent to you when your laundry is finished, and report a problem with a machine at any time by visiting LaundryView.
Vending machines are located in the basement.
All college-owned student residences are equipped with sprinklers and alarmed for fire safety.
West Hall has a card access system. Residents of this residence hall have 24/7 access. All other students have access from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.

Construction of West Hall was complete in 2005. West Hall is among the most energy efficient and environmentally sound buildings on the Bowdoin campus, having been certified "silver" under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program, which sets national standards for "green" building design.
