Quinby House is one of eight College Houses. It is a three-story, wooden residence that houses approximately 24 students in single and double rooms. There are male and female bathrooms on each floor hallway. There is a function room in the basement. The first floor includes a living room, dining room and kitchen (w/out stove). There is a library located on the second floor that is often used as a study space for the residents. There is a full-sized elevator in the building.
Quinby House is 1,170 feet from the Polar Bear Statue located in Hyde Plaza.

Each student is assigned a telephone number for their entire time at Bowdoin. One phone per room is supplied and each student has an individual voicemail box.
All rooms are cable ready. Quinby House is equipped with a wide-screen television in the first floor living room.
High-speed internet ports are located in every student room. Additionally, all buildings on campus are wireless.
Beginning the 2014-15 academic year, Quinby residents will be assigned a parking decal to a designated parking lots based on seniority and housing assignments on a first come, first served, space available basis. You can learn more about student parking at Bowdoin on the Security parking website.
The laundry room is located in the basement. The charge for washers and dryers is $1.70 per cycle. The washing machines and dryers in all residence halls are equipped with card readers; laundry machines do not accept cash. You may add money to your Bowdoin ID card for this purpose at several machines on campus. You can see what machines are open, get alerts sent to you when your laundry is finished, and report a problem with a machine at any time by visiting LaundryView.
There are no vending machines at this location.
All college-owned student residences are equipped with sprinklers and alarmed for fire safety.
Quinby House has a card access system. Residents of this residence hall have 24/7 access. All other students have access from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.
There is a bicycle storage room in the basement.
The Residential Life student staff comprises seventy upperclass students. There is one House Proctor in Quinby. Find out who the House Proctor is in your building.
Quinby House formerly Kappa Psi Upsilon was dedicated on September 18, 1999 in honor of George (Pat) Hunnewell Quinby, Class of 1923. Distinguished member of the Bowdoin faculty 1934-1969, Director of Dramatics 1935-1966.
