View Your Residence Hall
Chamberlain Hall is a four-story, brick residence that houses approximately 136 students in singles, doubles and quads. There are male and female bathrooms on each hallway for the single and double residents. The quad residents have a private bathroom within their quad. There are two common rooms and a kitchen (without a stove) on the first floor and a study room on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors. There is a full-sized elevator in the building.
Chamberlain Hall is 1,321 feet from the Polar Bear Statue located in Hyde Plaza.

Each student is assigned a telephone number for their entire time at Bowdoin. One phone per room is supplied and each student has an individual voicemail box.
All rooms are cable ready. Chamberlain Hall is equipped with a television in the first floor common room.
High-speed internet ports are located in every student room. Additionally, all buildings on campus are wireless.
Chamberlain does not have its own parking lot. Decals are issued to designated parking lots based on seniority and housing assignments on a first come, first served, space available basis. You can learn more about student parking at Bowdoin on the Security parking website.
The laundry room is located in the basement. The charge for washers and dryers is $1.70 per cycle. The washing machines and dryers in all residence halls are equipped with card readers; laundry machines do not accept cash. You may add money to your Bowdoin ID card for this purpose at several machines on campus. You can see what machines are open, get alerts sent to you when your laundry is finished, and report a problem with a machine at any time by visiting LaundryView.
All college-owned student residences are equipped with sprinklers and alarmed for fire safety.
Chamberlain Hall has a card access system. Residents of this residence hall have 24/7 access. All other students have access from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.

Chamberlain Hall was opened in 1999 and was dedicated in honor of Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain, Class of 1852, Governor of the State of Maine 1866-1870, President of Bowdoin College 1871-1883 and renowned Civil War hero.
