Howell House
Howell House is one of eight College Houses. It is a three-story, brick residence that houses approximately 27 students in single, double and triple rooms. There are bathrooms on each floor hallway that, depending on the gender of the floor from year-to-year, may be single sex or co-ed. There is a function room in the basement. The first floor includes a library, living room, dining room and full kitchen. There is no elevator in the building.

Telephone and Voicemail
Each student is assigned a telephone number for their entire time at Bowdoin. One phone per room is supplied and each student has an individual voicemail box.
Television and Cable
All rooms are cable ready. Howell House is equipped with a wide-screen television in the first floor library room and a mini-theater in the basement.
Computer Connections
High-speed internet ports are located in every student room. Additionally, all buildings on campus are wireless.
Parking
Howell has limited parking available for residents. Decals are issued to designated parking lots based on seniority and housing assignments on a first come, first served, space available basis. You can learn more about student parking at Bowdoin on the Security parking website.
Laundry
The laundry room is located in the basement. There is also a washer/dryer pair on the first floor. The charge for washers and dryers is $1.50 per cycle. The washing machines and dryers in all residence halls are equipped with card readers; laundry machines do not accept cash. You may add money to your Bowdoin ID card for this purpose at several machines on campus. You can see what machines are open, get alerts sent to you when your laundry is finished, and report a problem with a machine at any time by visiting LaundryView.
Vending
There are no vending machines at this location.
Safety
All college-owned student residences are equipped with sprinklers and alarmed for fire safety.
Howell House has a card access system. Residents of this residence hall have 24/7 access. All other students have access from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.

History
Howell House formerly Alpha Delta Phi was dedicated on October 21, 2000 in honor of Roger Howell, Jr. (1936-1989), Class of 1958, a member of Alpha Delta Phi, a distinguished historian and the tenth president of Bowdoin College.
