Interim Housing

Submission Deadline: Monday, May 19, 2008

If you need to remain on campus for an approved reason (i.e., employed by Bowdoin, Athletic Captain's Training, Approved Academic reasons) beyond Sunday, May 18, 2008, the College will provide Interim Housing in Coleman, Hyde and Appleton. The timeline for Interim Housing is as follows:

Friday, May 2 Signed leases and security deposits for Summer housing due to Events and Summer Programs Office
Sunday, May 18 12:00 noon: College housing closes for non-graduating students, except those approved for interim housing 5:00 - 9:00 p.m.: non-graduating students move to interim housing and out of spring assignments
Saturday, May 24 (Commencement) 6:00 p.m.: College housing closes for graduating students
Thursday, May 29 - Sunday, June 1 Reunion
Monday, June 2 By 12:00 noon: non-summer students move out of interim housing After 5:00 p.m.: summer students start moving into summer assignments (Harpswell Apts., Brunswick Apts., Smith House)
Wednesday, June 4 By 9:00 a.m.: summer students complete move out of interim assignments and into summer assignments

To summarize, you have between 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 18 to move your belongings into interim housing. If you will not be on campus during that time, you must make arrangements to move your belongings out of your Spring assignment prior to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 18 else your belongings will be considered abandoned property.

If you are moving from an interim assignment to an on-campus summer assignment you will have two days to move beginning Monday, June 2 at 5:00 p.m. You must vacate your interim assignment by Wednesday, June 4 at 9:00 a.m. If you will not be on campus during this time, you must make arrangements for someone to move your belongings from your interim assignment.

Reminders for those of you staying on campus during this time:

  • Please be sure not to prop open outside doors.
  • All College rules, regulations, and policies, as outlined in the current edition of the Bowdoin College Student Handbook, remain in effect during Break periods.
  • In the event of an emergency contact Security at x3500.
