Guidelines for House Affiliate E-mail Lists

Please note that House Affiliate E-mail List use has been restricted to College House Residents, Officers, and Residential Life Office personnel. These are the only people authorized to distribute e-mail via the House Affiliate distribution lists.

If you feel that you have a message that pertains to College House affairs, please forward your message to a House Officer for review.

The frequent misuse of the lists came to the IHC's attention, and they voted to restrict affiliate list use to the positions mentioned above. The affiliate lists were originally designed for advertisement and communication between College Houses and the student body. They are not meant to be used for sharing personal opinions and proposing ideas.

College Houses hold meetings every Sunday, which are open to all affiliates and intended for the purpose of creating an open dialogue between affiliates and House Leaders. If you have an idea, suggestion, or criticism, please use this forum to express your concerns. Also, please be aware that each affiliate has a vote equal to that of a house member. Your voice can be heard not only physically but also democratically. It ruins the legitimacy of affiliate lists when they are overused, so please take advantage of House meetings if you have feedback for the House System. Thank you for your understanding.
