Web Update: Angels In America Wins 11 Emmys

Bowdoin magazine, Spring 2004 featured an article about Kary Antholis '84, Vice President of HBO Films. That story opened at this year's Golden Globe Awards, where Antholis, Al Pacino, Meryl Streep, and the rest of the cast from Angels in America, the epic HBO movie about politics and morality in the turbulent 1980s, watched Angels sweep top awards in five categories, including Best Picture. Sunday night, September 19, Antholis and colleagues saw Angels take home 11 Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Miniseries. Along with that honor, Angels won Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie (Jeffrey Wright); Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie (Mary-Louise Parker); Outstanding Writing for a Mini Series, Movie or a Dramatic Special (Tony Kushner); Outstanding Lead Actor In a Miniseries or a Movie (Al Pacino); Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Dramatic Special (Mike Nichols); and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie (Meryl Streep).
