Sid Watson (1932-2004)
More than a thousand people came together at Farley Field House on Saturday, May 8 to celebrate the life of Bowdoin icon Sid Watson, Ashmead White Director of Athletics Emeritus, who died of a heart attack at his Naples, Florida home in April. He was 71. Bowdoin magazine was already on press when we learned the sad news of Sid's death and we were not able to include a story about him in this issue.
In the April 29 edition of The Boston Globe, staff writer Jim McCabe shared friends' memories of Sid in the golf column "Memories Live On, Going a Round and a Round."

In lieu of flowers, the Watson family has requested that contributions be made to the Sidney J. Watson Scholarship Fund at Bowdoin.
