As noted in the College's recent fall reopening annoucement, the campus will remain closed to the public for the fall semester to protect the health of Bowdoin students, faculty, and staff, as well as the broader Brunswick community. While we are unable to host programming on-campus over Family Weekend, we are working on plans for the fall to keep the Bowdoin community engaged and connected.
Family Weekend is an opportunity for families and friends to visit campus and learn about life at Bowdoin.
Visit classes, engage in conversation with students about their summer research at the President's Summer Research Symposium, enjoy student group performances and faculty talks, attend a Q&A with President Rose, cheer for the polar bears as Bowdoin teams take the field, and more!
The Family Weekend Schedule will be available in a variety of formats:
- Bowdoin app
- PDF (For reference, this is the 2019 schedule. Events and times are subject to change.)
- Printed brochures will also be available at the Family Weekend Welcome Center in David Saul Smith Union (across from C-Store.)
We strongly recommend that overnight accommodations be made well in advance, as rooms book quickly. For information on local accommodations, please go to the Southern Midcoast Chamber of Commerce or the Brunswick Downtown Association website.
Accessibility and Special Assistance
Bowdoin College is committed to making its campus accessible to persons with disabilities. We encourage individuals with disabilities to review the College's Accessibility map to help guide you to accessible routes and services. If you have questions, please contact the Office of Events and Summer Programs at 207-725-3433 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Assistive listening devices are available for events in Morrell Gym, Pickard Theater, and Studzinski Recital Hall. Other forms of accessibility aids may need to be arranged in advance, so please be sure to notify the Events Office as early as possible so they may work with you to address your individual needs. All parking lots contain designated accessible parking spaces.
Dining and Meals
The College dining halls will be open for families and guests to enjoy meals with their Bowdoin student. Families checking in at the Welcome Center will receive two complimentary tickets for Thorne or Moulton Union dining halls (one meal per ticket, per person.) Additional meals may be purchased at the door at meal times. Students eat as part of their board plan.
Please contact the Office of Events and Summer Programs at email@example.com or 207-725-3433.
