Career Resources for Alumni
Bowdoin College offers career resources for every member of the Bowdoin community. From networking opportunities and programming to industry-specific guides and articles, Bowdoin wants to support you wherever you are in your career.
Job Listings and Career Guidance
Handshake, CXD’s resource center, is available to current students and all Bowdoin alumni. In addition to job postings for recent graduates, you’ll find dozens of CXD-authored articles and tip sheets specifically written for Bowdoin students and alumni. These include guidance on resumes, cover letters, personal statements, graduate school, and more.
Visit Handshake’s Alumni Resource page to get started.
To ensure continued access to Handshake’s content and features, alumni must update their account email address using these instructions. If you need help, email cxd@bowdoin.edu.
Interview Practice
Prepare for an interview using the platform Big Interview, which lets you practice interview questions and record your answers, helping you perfect your skills before the real thing.
Advising
Individual appointments with CXD advisors are limited to alumni from the most recent graduating class who are still seeking their first post-grad opportunity.
Alumni applying to graduate and professional programs in the health professions should contact the Office of Health Professions Advising; there is also guidance for alumni seeking Law School advising.
If you’d like to find a private career advisor, Handshake’s Alumni Resource page has a list of advisors we recommend.
In addition, the National Career Development Association (NCDA) maintains a searchable database of career counselors and online resources.
Bowdoin Alumni Networking
The Bowdoin Career Advisory Network (BCAN) on LinkedIn is a generous community of Bowdoin alumni, friends and family willing to share information regarding their career paths, tips and connections. The chat is active and responsive and you will also often find alumni posting jobs for other alumni here.
