Assistant Director of the Baldwin Center, Academic Coaching

Tina directs the Academic Mentoring and Coaching program in the BCLT. As a certified academic life coach and ADHD coach, Tina consults individually with students to set goals, strategize plans and schedules, develop techniques for acquiring new knowledge and skills, and manage their workload while maintaining health and well-being. She also manages the academic peer mentoring program and offers a series of workshops each semester.

Tina teaches an interdisciplinary half-credit course (INTD 1050) in which students learn strategies and skills to be successful in college. Topics include time management, reading & note taking, exam preparation & study strategies, attention & focus, and motivation & procrastination.

Her scholarship focuses on the connection between personal goal achievement, goal conflicts, procrastination, and well-being. She creates and leads interventions to promote student success and life balance. Her current research project “Jump the Rubicon – Tackle your Procrastination” focuses on the development of a training program, consisting of several workshops, training videos and an app to support people in overcoming their procrastination. 

Prior to working at Bowdoin, Tina was a talent development specialist and corporate trainer. In these roles she offered workshops on topics such as team building, change management, and goal achievement. Tina also worked in interim positions at Bowdoin in the Center for Student Fellowships and Research and the McKeen Center prior to joining the BCLT.
