Education

I earned my B.S. from the University of Maine (Orono) in 2007 with a major in Kinesiology and Physical Education. As an undergraduate at the University of Maine, I was a two-sport student-athlete (football/indoor track) and often volunteered my idle time as a Black Bear Mentor for middle and elementary school aged students in the surrounding central Maine communities. In 2014 I earned my M. Ed in Kinesiology and my M.S. in Human Development from the University of Maine.

Background

After competing my graduate studies, I joined the coaching ranks as an assistant football coach at the University of Maine for two seasons before joining the football support staff at Rutgers University. Following my time at Rutgers, I pivoted from athletics to student affairs, where I most recently served as Class Dean for Junior and Senior Students and Programs at Colby College, Waterville, ME.

Over the past decade, in concert with my mother, Alice Boone, I have sustained the Strong Mind – Strong Body, Inc. (SMSB, Inc.) 501(c) (3) not-for-profit. SMSB, Inc. aims to restore impoverished communities through youth summer programs, job readiness training, and Veteran-centric services. The organization's inception took place at the University of Maine when I entered my senior year as a Black Bear football team member.
