Study Away Options
Bowdoin students don't just think about where they want to go, they think about what they want to study, experience, and accomplish.
Students may research off-campus study options and view individual program brochures through our Off-Campus Study Options List and by reviewing the components of studying off-campus.
Search Tips:
- On the homepage, we recommend entering at least one criteria to receive results. If left blank, no matches will appear.
- When you arrive at the program search directory, research program options by filtering by region, academic areas of study, language of instruction, and country. To see a broad range of off-campus study options, keep filters to a minimum and to keep your geographic destination broad. Try filtering only by academic areas of interest.
- Keep in mind that percentage matches do not necessarily indicate a better fit for your interests and goals. We encourage you to look at a wide variety of programs/universities, meet with OCS advisors and major advisors to discuss options, and review peer feedback. Remember that your major/minor departments may have preferred programs.
- Track your favorite programs by selecting the “heart” in the upper right-hand corner of a program listing. View these programs in your "Saved" tab.
- In the “Overview” tab of a program brochure, you can navigate directly to the program’s own website to learn more about the program.
- Review all tabs to learn more about Bowdoin related topics such as the application process, finances, and academics.
