Shirokuma Awards

During the fall and spring semesters Japanese language students form groups and create original skits that they perform in Japanese and videotape. At the end of each semester all of the Japanese language students and their friends gather to view the skits and see who will win the coveted “shirokuma” (polar bear) awards for the best performances. The students have a great time creating the skits and the event has become popular with students throughout campus.
