Fotis Zafiriou ’27: Legal Intern at Middlesex District Attorney's Office
By Fotis Zafiriou ’27
I performed discovery review, assisted in trial preparation, created non-legal written product, and observed and assisted in court proceedings.
- The office works to promote justice, ensure public safety, and uphold fairness in the legal system through the prosecution of criminal cases and community-based initiatives.
- I worked on many projects, but my favorite was either reviewing body camera footage to combat a motion to suppress, or help prepare a cross-examination on a racial bias expert.
Takeaways!
- Details are important! The way the ADAs were able to use details from the case file would ultimately decide the outcome of the case.
- Being at the office strengthened my aspiration to pursue a legal career!
- Being able to see a situation from multiple angles can help strengthen your argument.
- Ultimately, my favorite part was gathering for lunch and hearing about all the cases that the ADAs were working on. It was an open discussion where the interns got to learn how the ADAs would try to formulate arguments for their cases, while also being involved in the conversation!
