Miles poses with the Maritime Applied Physics Corporation team.

Maritime Applied Physics Corporation (MAPC) is a naval technology firm specializing in advanced systems for maritime environments. With a strong history of serving government and commercial clients, MAPC enhances the evolving national security space.

My Experience:

  • Developed 3D models using CAD software.
  • Collaborated closely with engineers to learn and apply finite element analysis.

During my time at MAPC I worked on two different projects. First, I worked on the design for an unmanned ship. Second, I worked on the 3D model for an experiment which tests the strength of the ground effect over waves.

As a result of my CXD experience, I have solidified my interest in engineering and have a clearer idea of how I may pursue my interests in the future. Additionally, I now have a clear idea of how I will shape my Bowdoin experience towards a career in engineering.
