This summer I worked at an investment bank, and this experience prepared me well for understanding the field of banking more broadly finance. In addition, I was able to work with 3 other Bowdoin students at JEGI CLARITY, which was a comforting experience to be with fellow polar bears!

A pre-eminent M&A advisory firm for the global media, marketing, information, and technology industries. JEGI CLARITY advises Founders, Investors, and Global Corporations with a range of services including Buyside and Sellside M&A advisory, recapitalizations and divestitures, as well as debt advisory solutions.

Over the summer, I worked on various prospective and live deals at JEGI CLARITY, providing clients with strategic advice to best implement for their companies. My company’s focus was on the technology, media, and telecom sectors, with deal sizes ranging from $50 million to $250 million.

My experience at JEGI CLARITY has equipped me with professional, technical, and behavioral skills that I will carry forward into my future experiences. Working at JEGI CLARITY has furthered my assurance that I am interested in working in finance, more specifically investment banking. I have well equip myself with Excel and PowerPoint work as well as building financial models in preparation for my internship next year. My favorite part of this experience was working on live deals on the back end and working with clients to sell their businesses. Having exposure to live deals has given me more depth into the investment banking field and finance more broad.

Internship funded by the Perper, Scott and Anne Internship Fund.
