Selkirk Partners L.P. is a global long/short equity investment hedge fund. The firm is driven by deep fundamental research leveraging their operational and audit experience to assemble a thematic, concentrated portfolio of high conviction ideas. Portfolio risk and exposure levels are actively managed using a number of frameworks supported by fundamental research.

Throughout the summer I conducted research on current and potential investments opportunities for Selkirk Partners. I also listened in on calls and attended in-person meetings with people across different industries. As AI becomes more popular and applicable to many industries, I researched companies that will benefit from AI. Through reading and listening to experts in the AI industry, I was able to make predictions on what companies will come out as winners.

From this experience, I learned how important collaboration is when conducting research. I also learned how fast paced the financial world is and I really enjoyed working in that environment. This internship solidified my aspirations to have a career in finance. Through my research, I learned how to model companies and become more comfortable in Excel. My favorite part of the internship was joining in on calls and learning from other hedge fund managers and CEOs. I learned so much from hearing how different people approach investments and how to effectively run a business.

Internship funded by the CXD Internship Fund.
