This summer I worked at bluShift Aerospace retrofitting a filament winder to create composite tubes to be used as future rocket airframes.

bluShift Aerospace is working to become the first company to launch commercial rockets powered by carbon-neutral biofuel. bluShift focuses on small research satieties launched from here in Maine. I worked with James Eysenbach ‘24 to make bluShift’s filament winder operational and to expand the maximum diameter that it could wind. Through this internship I learned about the engineering and design process for aerospace components as well as composite fabrication and lay up.

Internship funded by the Richard G. D'Auteuil '82 and Kimberly A. Labbe '82 Internship Fund.
