Gaining valuable skills in two different sectors: nonprofit advocacy and the art market.

As an intern for The Borgen Project and Christie’s, I sought to combine two vastly different sectors by utilizing my editing skills, knowledge of current global trends, and gaining valuable professional insight in my remote work everyday.

While I initially had planned to be working in office in New York City for Christies, a shift to a remote opportunity enabled me to gain valuable skills in two different sectors: nonprofit advocacy and the art market. As an Art History and German double major, I found that my background in a global world translated to both positions as an Editor/Writer for The Borgen Project and in my online course for Christies, “Inside the Global Contemporary Art Market.” Paying close attention from current global trends I was able to rigorously meet weekly deadlines to edit or compose articles focusing on multiple aspects of global poverty and even integrate art market philanthropy efforts in my articles.

I am so grateful for this internship experience in spite of an unusual summer and will use it to inform my future career exploration.
