Bowdoin keeps its help documents, called job aids, in TeamDynamix. You can use this Workday website to navigate to the correct job aid by visiting our pages for employees, students, student employees, and friends and family (third parties). You can also visit our Workday Support Hub to view all our Workday job aids in one place.

Bowdoin has created an all-Workday IT group to support Workday and its users across campus, and they're prepared to help you resolve any issues you may be having with Workday M-F, 8:30-5. The best way to reach this group is by submitting a Workday service request, which goes to all members of the Workday support group. Most people receive an answer to their request the same day.

No, you can also register from the BOW STU Find Course Sections Report. During initial registration, it's best to use your saved schedules to register. However, once we're past the initial registration day, you're best served by using BOW STU Find Course Sections. Saved Schedules operate a little differently once you're already registered, and using BOW STU Find Course Sections is more flexible.

Waitlist offers are administered automatically in Workday. If a seat becomes available and you are first on the waitlist, you will receive a notification in Workday. You can accept the invitation and register for the course (Workday will allow you to drop a class to make space for it if you need to do so), you can deny the invitation (this will leave you on the waitlist and send the invitation on to the next person), or you can remove yourself from the waitlist.

You have 24 hours from the time the offer is sent in Workday to act on the offer. After that time, the offer will move on to the next student on the waitlist and you will not be able to enroll unless you receive a new offer. If you are worried about missing notifications, please review our instructions for setting your communication preferences in Workday job aid.

You can configure notifications in Workday to be emailed to you. Please review the Workday Notification Preferences job aid.

This could be due to a couple of things:

1. No student who is currently enrolled has dropped the class you've waitlisted
2. The offer is currently with the student or students ahead of you and they have not yet acted on their offer.

Please remember to remove yourself from any class waitlists you no longer need to be on, as this will help offers get to students who need them more quickly.

You can drop the conflicting class at the same time you accept the waitlist offer. Please review the Waitlists for Students job aid.

It's understandable that you might feel a lot of pressure to have the perfect schedule right away, but don't panic! Registration will remain open through the start of the term. With waitlists and with other students continuing to make adjustments to their schedules, there will be plenty of movement in all departments before the start of the term.

Remember also that as a student at a Liberal Arts College, exploring the curriculum is actually part of what makes a perfect schedule! You may be surprised by where you find a class that ends up changing your life.

Students will be able to register for a 5th credit as of the first day of the semester, but not before. First year students are eligible to add a 5th credit with permission from their advisor and their dean.

You will not be able to add a 5th credit until the first week of the semester. You'll need to drop one of the other credits in order to add the new class. You can drop a class to add the waitlisted course through the waitlist offer, or deny the offer to stay in your other classes while remaining on the waitlist. We get it, mistakes happen. Unfortunately, we cannot resend or reset it because the offer will have already moved on to the next eligible student. You can remain on the waitlist and see if the offer comes around again.

Yes. When you are on the waitlist for a course, you are not considered enrolled and may add yourself to as many waitlists as you want. Please make sure to remove yourself from any waitlists for courses that you no longer want or need. Please review the Waitlists for Students job aid for more details.

Prerequisite Overrides is the process to request to have the ability to enroll in a course that you don't meet the prerequisite for or if registration requires instructor permission. This will not allow a course to be over-enrolled above its capacity. Please review the Request Prerequisite Override for students job aid for more information.

The course size enrollment override form will not be available to faculty until the start of the semester. Requests to override course sizes will be requested by faculty only as appropriate. Until the form opens, please let registration and waitlist processes run their course. Often the need to override class sizes and over-enroll students is mitigated through the normal registration process.
