Expanding Bowdoin's Relationship with Workday
By Workday Project TeamBowdoin has chosen to expand its relationship with Workday. Over the next six years, we will implement Workday Finance and Workday Student and bring many of the College's core applications into a single, unified system.
This decision was made with input and consultation from teams across several key areas including Finance, Academic Affairs, HR, and IT, and after a thorough review fo systems and solutions available to the College. The decision has both the support of College leadership and the endorsement of the Board of Trustees.
Our aspiration is to further enable and foster a culture of integrated and collaborative working, learning, and advising. The multi-year transition will impact students, faculty, and staff across the College, empowering the community to work in a more integrated way.
The project will require engagement and input from the entire campus community and will consist of three major phases, first, optimizing our Workday HR environment, then, implementing Workday Finance, and finally, implementing Workday Student. Internal preliminary work has begun and in January 2022 the formal work will begin with our Workday implementation partner Alchemy.
Alchemy's exclusive focus is on working with higher education institutions to implement Workday, and their impressive track record of working with residential liberal arts colleges means they understand the unique needs of institutions like Bowdoin. This partnership with Alchemy is explicitly designed to provide Bowdoin's Workday project team expert guidance throughout the duration of the implementation to ensure we have an advanced and sustainable solution when finished.
In January we will provide more information about the project, including teams, timeline, governance, values, and more details via a dedicated Workday at Bowdoin website. In the meantime, we invite you to reach out should you have questions or feedback.
Sincerely,
