Interning Abroad

The linguistic and cultural expertise our students gain as Russian majors opens the door to resume-enhancing summer work experiences abroad that can pave the way toward a wide range of future careers.

Whether you decide to work in an NGO or political think tank, at a museum or a newspaper, as a translator or a camp counselor, an internship in Russia or Eurasia is guaranteed to be a life-changing adventure and a valuable career builder.

Funded by a variety of different sources, Career Exploration and Development at Bowdoin offers grants and fellowships for students to pursue summer work experiences that would otherwise not be paid. These grants and fellowships are meant to help students develop valuable experience and skills in career areas of interest. In addition to summer internships, our students studying abroad in Russia during the academic year have often been able to combine internships with their regular academic coursework.
