Alumni Council Award for Faculty and Staff

For bringing curiosity, creative energy, and dedication to her students, colleagues, and the entire Bowdoin community, Associate Professor of English Ann L. Kibbie has been selected by the Alumni Council to receive the 2026 Alumni Award for Faculty and Staff.

Kibbie arrived at Bowdoin in 1989 with a bachelor’s degree from Boston University and a PhD from the University of California, Berkeley. Since then, her scholarship has broken new ground by investigating the interplay of the historical, cultural, economic, and scientific elements that underpin Restoration and eighteenth-century British literature. Read more about Alumni Award for Faculty and Staff winner Ann L. For his longstanding and dedicated service to the College, Scott A. Meiklejohn, a trusted advisor and key member of the leadership team through four Bowdoin presidents, has been named a recipient of the 2026 Alumni Award for Faculty and Staff.

Meiklejohn has worn many hats since arriving on campus in 1997—those of senior capital support officer, associate vice president for development and alumni relations, senior vice president for planning and institutional advancement and assistant to President Barry Mills, dean of admissions and financial aid, senior vice president for development and alumni relations, and special advisor to the president.
